Those of you who know me know that I have tried my hands at a few different things over the years…there was an early stint as a banker, then a sojourn as a staff member for a nonprofit arts group before children came along. While our boys were little, I spent many hours working on what would become EdVenture Children’s Museum in Columbia, SC.

The idea for a small, hands-on museum grew and grew and now Eddie, a 40-foot tall climbing structure and the world’s biggest boy, is the hallmark of the largest children’s museum in the Southeast. During EdVenture’s development, the founding volunteers all knew we were working on the right project because every time a door closed, a window opened on an even better opportunity. It is amazing to think that EdVenture is celebrating its tenth anniversary this fall!

Grey Ghost Bakery has now been in business for a year, and what a year it has been!  We are filled with gratitude that our cookies have been loved by so many! In many ways, Grey Ghost’s first year has been as awe-inspiring as EdVenture’s progress was as it was getting off the ground. You can find our cookies in twenty-six stores in South Carolina, North Carolina, Connecticut and Texas. Grey Ghost Bakery cookies also are available in three online stores in addition to our website: Garden and Gun Store, OpenSky, and Mouth.

I have been making these cookies since I was so little that I had to stand on a chair to reach the counter (and that was quite a few moons ago…), so I have always known that these cookies put smiles on people’s faces. I am just delighted to be helping so many more people have a reason to smile!

Thank you to all of you who have helped, encouraged and nurtured us along the way! While I have yet to experiment with charcuterie or carpentry, the baking thing seems to be working out pretty well—thanks, y’all!
